Research Callaway Corvettes
The Chevrolet team has introduced the most sophisticated, most feature-packed Corvette to date. Direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing and advanced engine management control architecture are just some of the techniques that have been incorporated in recent years.
The new features helped allow Callaway engineers to produce breathtaking horsepower and torque, with flawless transition into and out of positive manifold pressure.
Fuel economy is practically unchanged from stock as active fuel management and modulated supercharger inlet valving monitor driving conditions and respond accordingly.
To illustrate the improved efficiency of the Callaway intercooling design, inlet air temperature increased by less than 10ºF during repeated dynamometer runs, compared to increases of at least 35ºF with other intercooler designs. That means more consistent performance at the track and dragstrip, as well as increased power on the street during summer months.
To prevent drive belt slippage, a new 10-rib pulley system has been incorporated. In fact, certain new technical features are significant enough that utility and design aspects of this system are patent pending with the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Borrowing concepts from Callaway C12 race car exhaust design, the new Callaway Corvette exhaust system replaces the two OEM mufflers with a unitized acoustic chamber. The result is minimized exhaust gas restriction for maximum power with a deep, muscular tone. Callaway's signature Double-D tips are larger and attach directly to the chamber.
Callaway Supercharger Design Comparison
Earlier Design
- Charge air is discharged by the rotor pack at high pressure. Increased pressure also increases air temperature.
- As charge air passes through the single element intercooler, heat is transferred to the intercooler coolant. The coolant is circulated through a heat exchanger in front of the truck’s radiator, where it is radiated into the atmosphere.
- The charge air enters a log-style plenum with no intake manifold runners. The charge air is then drawn into each cylinder head port during each cylinder’s intake stroke.
GenThree Design
- The rotor pack is rotated 180°. As above, charge air is discharged by the rotor pack at high pressure which also increases charge air temperature.
- Air passes through the primary intercooler and heat is transferred into the intercooler coolant. This intercooler element is designed with lower restriction to provide less pressure drop and flow rate loss.
- The charge air exits the intercooler into a section of the supercharger where the housing’s surface is cooled by ambient air. Additional heat is removed via convective heat transfer.
- Following the charge air path to the cylinder heads, additional convective heat transfer occurs as ridges in the housing walls straighten airflow and direct it toward the secondary intercoolers.
- Secondary intercooler elements conduct more heat from the charge air. Inlet air is then drawn into each cylinder through longer, well-defined intake manifold ports.
In contrast with one-off "tuner" cars, all Callaways are assembled to precise engineering specifications by our expert technicians. That's one reason why Callaway can provide the most comprehensive standard warranty among all specialty manufacturers, and an optional 5 year/100,000 mile Extended Powertrain Service Contract. It's also why organizations like NADA include Callaway as its own marque in their price guides.
Corvette C7 | Criswell Corvette in Gaithersburg, MD
The heart of the Callaway Corvette package is Callaway's third-generation supercharger design. Entirely new, Callaway engineers developed a supercharger housing and integrated intake manifold to improve airflow quality and increase charge air cooling capability. Intake manifold runner cross-section and length were tuned for a broad torque band while maintaining excellent peak horsepower. Eaton's 2300cc TVS rotor pack was selected for its high thermal efficiency, OEM-certified quality, and service-proven reliability. A new triple-element intercooler configuration provides significantly lower inlet charge air temperatures than possible with single and dual element designs. Because of the added volume of the new internals, the supercharger housing itself extends through the hood. Consequently, both conductive and convective heat transfer mechanisms are utilized to remove power-robbing heat from the inlet charge.

Callaway Corvette Z06 SC757
With 757 horsepower*, the limited production Callaway Corvette Z06 SC757 delivers more power than any previous Callaway Corvette. Based on Chevrolet’s track-proven Z06, Callaway engineers’ no-compromise approach takes the Z06 to an astounding power level.
The new GenThree 2300cc supercharger (pat. pend.) replaces the Z06’s stock 1740cc unit, adding 32% more rotor pack displacement. Plus, extending the Callaway supercharger through the hood improves manifold geometry, allows for longer, tuned intake runners for increased torque, and provides convective charge air cooling. A unique triple-element intercooling system maintains virtually ambient inlet air temperatures, preventing heat-related power loss.
Armed with flawless drivability and bulletproof durability, Callaway’s 3 Year/36,000 Mile Limited Warranty overlaps the factory GM warranties, ensuring that Callaway Corvettes are not “blocked” for service by GM dealerships nationwide.
Optional equipment includes an Extended Powertrain Service Contract, ShortThrow Shifter, Callaway Sport Exhaust with Double-D Tips, Embroidered Car Cover, and National Corvette Museum Delivery.
